Garden Amphitheatre

Sitting amidst two world heritage sites and amongst a 17th century Mughal Lotus pond, the Garden Amphitheatre is approaced through a series of flower beds and well-manicured lawn. The picturesque setting with its sensitive landscaping and serene environment provides the visitor a slice of Delhi’s history and green calm.

Exhibition Area

The lush green lawn adjoins the Sunderwala Mahal, which is a World Heritage Site sitting in its Hasht-Bihist garden and is surrounded by lofty trees, some dating back to two centuries, providing for an ideal setting to warm and informal events. The monument gets lit up from the outside at sunset, providing for an ideal backdrop to the gatherings.
The venue is easily approachable from the road and parking.

Picnic Park Zone

With ample space to accommodate large gatherings, our Picnic Park Zone becomes a canvas for your event's vision. Whether it's a community festival, a lively concert, or an exhibition, this versatile area provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable experience. Connected to both pathways that wind through the park, its proximity to the peripheral road ensures that guests can arrive and depart with ease.

Lawn North of Amphitheatre

Sitting amidst two world heritage – Sunder Burj and Sunderwala Mahal, this lush green lawn with an ideal setting for a large gathering or for smaller cozy groups. The Lawn is lined with monolithic sandstone lighting and is in close proximity to the Garden Amphitheatre.

Market Plaza

The Market Plaza is a large flat levelled ground space which is ideal for an event having multiple units or stalls. Sitting amidst a beautiful garden on one side, and a 16th century garden tomb of Mirza Muzaffar Hussain, this plaza is easily approachable from the road and two parking spaces.

Lawn West of Playhouse Area

Nestled amidst stunning natural beauty, the historical Arched Platform and soothing water features create a timeless ambiance for your special event. The majestic quartzite stone wall adds a touch of grandeur to the surroundings, providing a picturesque backdrop that will leave you in awe. Sunken Gardens

Birthday Party Lawn

What licences are required to hold an event at the park?

Causal Performance Licence (CPL): A copy of the casual performance license from the office of the Additional Commissioner of Police: Licensing, PS-Defence Colony, New Delhi, must be obtained and submitted two days before the event.
A copy of the No Objection Certificate – from the concerned copyright agencies (in the case of music)
A copy of the No Objection Certificate – from the GST Department (for retail fairs and bazaars)
A copy of the No Objection Certificate – from the Entertainment Department (if the event is ticketed)

What sort of events are permitted in the park?

Sunder Nursery venues are available for cultural, educational, and environmental public and corporate programmes. Private parties are not permitted in the park, with the exception of children's birthday celebrations in a specified area.

How many venues can be reserved for an event? Is it possible to book the entire Sunder Nursery?

At any given moment, a maximum of two venues may be booked for an event.

How long can a venue be reserved by an organiser?

The venue at Sunder Nursery Park can be booked for a maximum of a four-day event.

What is the venue's retention fee for set-up and dismantling?

Th setup or dismantling fee is 25% of the venue charges.

Is there a security deposit required for booking the venue?

A refundable security deposit must be paid before the event.
Security Deposit for Amphitheatre Rs. 20,000 Per Event/Per day.
Security Deposit for Other venues Rs. 50,000 Per Event/Per day.

The organiser is responsible for the housekeeping of the booked venue during setup, event day, and post-event cleaning. If the cleanliness guidelines are not adhered to, 100% of the refundable security will be forfeited.

Is it permissible to dig for polls during setup?

It is not permissible to dig. A limited number of 1-inch nails can be used for hangers and pagodas.

What is the permitted music frequency during an event?

Music can be played at a low frequency (moderate) and possibly within the event area until 10 p.m.

Is it permissible to project images on the monument during the event?

Monument projections of any form are not permitted.

Can the organiser illuminate the monuments around the venue?

Yes, from one meter away, and only for monuments that are not illuminated.

What are the decoration guidelines for the event?

Lighting or decor on the pathways to the venue can be done. However, no pathways should be blocked.
Decorations are not permitted on or around the monument's immediate surroundings. Decorating trees or electric poles is not permitted.

Is crane permitted in the park during event setup?

Heavy vehicles, such as tractors, cranes, hydra, etc, are not permitted in the park. Small tempos and lorries, on the other hand, are only allowed up to a certain point.

Does Sunder Nursery offer a golf cart service from the access gates to the venue?

Sunder Nursery does not provide golf carts; however, event organizers can rent them from outside (a maximum of two for a day event).

Does Sunder Nursery provide electricity for the event?

We provide up to 5 kilowatts of power at the amphitheater & children’s Play area; anything above that is charged at Rs 250 +GST per kilowatt (max 6 hours). However, there is a limit to the amount of electricity provided to each venue, as follows: Amphitheater – Up to 80 kilowatts.

Sunken Garden – Up to 40 kilowatts
North Amphitheater – Up to 100 kilowatts
Picnic lawn – Up to 150 kilowatts
Exhibition Lawn – Up to 70 kilowatts
Mughal Pavilion – Up to 50 kilowatts
Lake Area – Up to 70 kilowatts
West of the Children's Play Area-Up to 50 kilowatts

Organisers are also free to install a maximum of four DG sets, with a maximum of 125 KV per set, if there is no ban from the Government.

How many power outlets are present at the park?

The park has fixed electrical points located throughout the park and each venue has access to a single point of connection.

Can event sites be cordoned off?

Yes, with the self-standing structures.

Security and valet parking facilities at Sunder Nursery during the event?

Sunder Nursery has its own security arrangements. However, the organiser may deputise some extra security guards as per their requirements.
Sunder Nursery does not provide valet services; organisers are free to hire as needed.

How early does one need to make the payment for the booking?

We hold the venue for a maximum of 5 days from the day of the query. The booking of a venue can only be confirmed upon the submission of the completed application form and the payment of the booking fee (25%) and refundable security deposit. A detailed set-up plan for approval is to be shared two days before the event day for the amphitheatre, and for other venues, a set plan needs to be shared a week before.

Does Sunder Nursery have registered vendors for event catering, set-up, and sound system services?

We do not yet have vendor empanelment; therefore, organisers are allowed to bring their own vendors.

In the event of adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain, fog, hail, and dust storms, is the booking fee refunded?

The Management Trust provides the same venue on the next available date to the organisers.

Can the organiser put its sponsors holdings in the background during the event?

Yes, however, branding of tobacco, liquor, and any other restricted products is not permitted.

During the event, how many event-related posters, banners, and standees can be placed in the park?

In the case of a cultural event, no more than 4-5 posters/banners/standees no larger than 8'x4' are permitted.
A retail event may have a maximum of ten posters/banners/standees no larger than 8'x4' and eight directional signs no larger than 4'x3'.

What are the provisions for entry and parking charges for guests during the event?

Guests are subject to Sunder Nursery Park entry and parking fees. In the case of an invitation-based event, we allow a maximum of 300 people to enter the park. However, parking charges are applicable.

Does Sunder Nursery have registered vendors for event catering?

We do not yet have vendor empanelment; therefore, organisers are allowed to bring their own vendors.

Is it permitted to serve food at the amphitheater during the event?

Food is not permitted at the amphitheater. However, a small area near the amphitheater is set aside for serving tea/water.

Is serving liquor allowed during the event?

Yes, a liquor license must be obtained, and the serving area must be cordoned off. Note: Serving liquor is not allowed in the Exhibition Lawn, Garden Amphitheatre, and Children Birthday Party Lawn.

What are the provisions for heating food during the event?

A small area within the venue is provided for heating the food.
Use of coal and wood is prohibited in the park.

What are the provisions for entry and parking charges for guests during the event?

Is parking reserved for the event?

Parking is not reserved.

Is there a parking and entry fee waiver for organisers?

A restricted number of people from the organiser's team are permitted entry. Vehicles, however, are allowed to drop off the material for a limited time in the morning or late at night.

The booking of said venue is permitted for birthday parties for children up to the age of 15 years.

What are the charges for booking the space?

Rs. 15,000 plus GST

What are the booking hours for organising a party, and for how long it will be available?

Summer hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., while winter hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The venue can be booked for a maximum of four hours a day.

When is the venue given for setup?

The venue is handed over to the organiser on the event day from 8 a.m. onward.

Is there any provision for decoration at the party?

Only self-standing structures are permitted.
Digging and decoration on trees and poles are not permitted.

Does the venue have a place to heat food?

Yes, a small area within the venue is provided for heating the food.
The use of gas cylinders, coal, and wood is prohibited in the park.

Does Sunder Nursery provide electricity for the event?

Electricity is provided up to 5 kilowatts; anything over that is charged at Rs 250 plus GST per kilowatt. We provide a single-point connection to the venue.

What are the guidelines for entry and parking for the guests?

Guests are subject to the park’s entry and parking fees.

Is there any provision for children’s entertainment?

Resource persons for workshops, as well as children's amusement items such as Mickey Mouse bounce houses, trampolines, tents, and so on, are welcome.

What are the housekeeping guidelines for the venue?

The organizer is responsible for the housekeeping of the Children’s Birthday Party Lawn after the party.
